We spent last week in the great out of doors. First two days we battled the wind and I mean it was CRAZY blowing. We took the dogs with us and they frolicked every day. We came across a herd of about 30 ELK beautiful. Our Grandkids joined us for a couple of nights and we went geo-caching. You can see them with the ammo box "treasure". Then, of course, the most fun camping activity. . . .sitting around the fire. The wind finally calmed down and Leigh gathered rocks, dug this pit out and here you see him enjoying it.
We most likely will go out again next year about Father's Day weekend. Not likely before. It is too much work gathering and setting up and then coming home again. I give Leigh most of the credit for the back-breaking work. He is awesome.

Bryce does all the work when we go camping too, but I just look at it as my break... besides I will have to clean up everything when we get home so its only fair and he is in his element outdoors anyway. His only rule right now is not camping when its raining... we didn't enjoy the smell of a fire fueled by gasoline on valentines day =) btw your pictures look great! =)
I remember why we don't do much camping anymore. It's way too much work, before and after.
The part I enjoy is just sitting by the fire at night and day/night dreaming about the stars and whats really out there. I really want to be an astronaut when I grow up.

We love going to Green's Peak. It's one of our favorite places to hike. We like camping too but it is a lot of work. It seems you move the whole house for one night and then have to haul it back, clean it up, then put it away. Aaron's wife is doing better. They have had a rough start bringing their little one into the world. But he is a doll and we are all grateful for him.
